The Inner City 100, published in the May 1999 issue of Inc. spotlighted the new frontier of entrpreneurship located in America's core urban areas. The 100 companies that made the list had an average five-year growth rate of 700 percent, notched annual sales averaging $14 million and together created nearly 5,000 new jobs.
